Thanks to Jason’s initiative to get us Grand Beach Provincial Park staff approval to ride the winter trails and good conditions, a fun group of nine Fat Bikers enjoyed a great day ‘rolling our fatties’!
Check it out in these GoPro screen-cap pictures …
Mike H, Liam, Mike B and Cory ready for the trails
Cory, KC, Tony and Ken ready with Jason about to lead us out on the Grand Beach trails
We’re off …
Hitting the trails …
The -20C start to the ride made for solid conditions
‘Fat Levels’ represented by Liam and Mike B
Liam on his custom “Fat Levels’ Pugsley
Ken S already smiling, even before he got to demonstrate his downhill prowess
Fat Jason C leading the way on the trails he arranged for our access … well played J
Mike B cruising
You can see the tread dimples and minor tracks left on the firm skate ski surface
For every uphill …
There’s a downhill 🙂
Mike H and Ken S cruising the near perfect conditions
Mike H and the pack ‘eating’ up the trail
Ken S had no problem holding my wheel on the downhills and slipping past me in complete control
Cory and Mike B cruising along …
Cory in his happy place … on his fat bike!
All smiles for Ken , Liam, KC and Jason
Mike H and Jason with big smiles at the end of the ride!
Liam cruising in at the end
Ken never did stop smiling
Apparently smiling while fat biking is un-avoidable … just ask Mike H
Plenty of snow base, fairly recent ski trail grooming and some colder temps meant nice trails
Our low pressure fat bike tires left little impression on the trails
The evidence is clear … we fat bikers with wide and low pressure tires on properly groomed trails are leaving the right ‘impression’!
The end of a great Fat Bike group ride on the sweet Grand Beach Winter Trails
Nothing like a cozy fire to top it all off
Always keen (and animated) … Jason C, regaling us with the finer points of Fat Bike Advocacy. Thanks J
My quick GoPro camera check cameo … a great day to be Fat Biking!
Looks like we’ll be back … soon!
